Courtney and Todd started their wedding festivities at Todd’s Oma and Opa’s house in Baltimore, Maryland. The rehearsal dinner was set in the backyard underneath a tent. Right away you could feel the love both families have for Courtney and Todd. Todd’s grandma introduced herself to every guest saying, “Call me Oma.” Immediately, everyone felt like they were a part of the family.
On the wedding day, there were hints of Star Wars, since the wedding was on May 4th. Courtney even surprised Todd with his very own lightsaber entrance to the reception. Courtney’s uncles officiated the wedding at Shrine of the Sacred Heart church. After the ceremony, the wedding party took a limo to the Elkridge Country Club for the reception. Courtney and Todd rode in a vintage car. The Sandbergs know how to throw a party; which I think runs in the family. Oma definitely stole the show with her dance moves.
The reception ended at 8pm, but that didn’t mean the party was ending. Guests were asked to make their way outside for a sparkler exit, and then the party was going to continue on back at the hotel bar. Everyone got in their comfy clothes and continued the celebration.
I don’t think Courtney and Todd could have asked for a more perfect wedding or day. It was exactly as they envisioned, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
At the end of May, I received an inquiry for July 6, 2018, just a little over a month before the wedding. After speaking with Nikki + Matt, they explained Matt is a brave member of our country’s Marines, and there was a possibility he could be at training over the weekend of their original wedding date, with no guarantees if he would be able to get the time off. So here they were planning a Minnesota wedding four months sooner, from Virginia. After our phone call, I felt like I had known these two forever, and I knew their wedding was going to be nothing short of amazing. And oh boy, was I right. You could feel the love throughout the entire day at Legacy Hill Farm. There were four branches of the military present: Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Army. It was truly an honor to capture Nikki + Matt’s wedding.

Kia Ora! I knew immediately Anna + Tim were going to be so great to work with: Anna works with vineyards at the U of M and Tim is originally from New Zealand. If you know anything about me, you will know these are two of my favorite things. These two have spent the last three years in a long distance relationship. Finally, after 1,131 days, 34 flights, and 1 EXTREMELY long visa application process, these two are married! To celebrate their marriage, they invited their closest friends and family to The Lynhall for a reception – Tim’s mother and best mate even flew in from New Zealand! The night was filled with so much love and laughter. I am so honored I was able to capture this part of Anna + Tim’s journey! Cheers!

If I had to describe my perfect couple in two words, it would be Toni + Jake. When they first inquired with me for their March 17th wedding (in Two Harbors), I wasn’t sure they would actually hire me, because I was running a 10K race the morning of their wedding (in St. Cloud). I told them about my race, and totally understood if they wanted to have a photographer that would be more accessible the morning of their wedding; their response was, “Get there when you get there.” What? Did I read that right?
So flash forward to March 17th, I had an early start to get to the race, ran for a little over an hour, then my sweet, sweet husband drove me from St. Cloud to Two Harbors to shoot Toni + Jake’s wedding, which was the best wedding ever, in case you were wondering. Everything took place at the beautiful Larsmont Cottages on Lake Superior. The ceremony was set up facing the lake, and the reception was in a quaint room, filled with Toni + Jake’s closest friends and family. I left that night so, unbelievably, humbled by this couple that trusted me completely with their day.
